Fundraiser results & New pens posted!

Hey Everybody!

First up – thanks so much to all of you for all of your support for our fundraiser. We had $34172 in total sales, with about $19254 available to spend. That gets us our office expansion and down payment on the 2nd CNC with tooling.

I’ve already started on all the pens and many have already shipped out. I’ll be emailing you as I get your pens ready to go. So be looking out.

I have some new pens ready to go that have just been WAITING for me to finish them up. And you can get 15% off those and anything else in the store if you wish Elizabeth happy birthday on her Instagram page and email me with your Instagram name so I can see it. 🙂 Sale ends Jan 23rd.

Fundraiser update

Hey Everybody!

First – a huge thanks to all of you who have supported our fundraiser.
We didn’t reach the goal of $33,000 (net), but without the eyes that Kickstarter gets, I’m very happy with how far we’ve gotten . It’s enough to take care of the office build, and to put a huge chunk towards the new CNC (which I’ve already financed – it should be here sometime in February).

So far we’ve raised about $17,372 net, or $31,357 gross.

I wanted to remind you that tomorrow is the last day to get in on the fundraiser sale with all the discounts, and to share some of the pen sleeves that Elizabeth has made for us.

And here’s a shot of the new office. Rain has really interrupted their work, but it’s coming along.

So tomorrow is the last day to get in on this fundraiser sale, but I won’t say no if you come in over the weekend. 🙂

Monday we’ll be going out of town for a few days for a Christmas cabin trip, so I’ll be away from the shop and email and stuff until after Christmas. Very excited! 🙂

It’s a Nikko ebonite I’m calling Amazon, with colors of the Brazilian flag, green, blue, and yellow.

Newton Pens Fundraiser – update!

Hi Everybody!

First I want to say thanks to everybody who has supported our fundraiser!

We’ve raised $15,474 so far ($27,893 when you include shipping, pen blanks, nibs, and other materials, taxes and fees).

We’ve already broken ground on the office for Elizabeth and I’ve put in an order for the Tormach. I’m financing it, but I will be able to pay a good chunk of it up front, which will make a huge difference in long term payments.

We’re going to run the fundraiser for another couple of weeks into December, and if you want to throw us your support, you can see how to do that here.

I’ve already started on single pen orders, too!

Another material!

Hey everybody!

First – thanks so much for all the support over the last few days for our fundraiser. Fingers crossed we’ll reach our goal in a few weeks. We’re at almost $8300 right now (after materials, fees, shipping).

I want to add another ebonite material to the list of options.

Peacock ripple. It’s the same $40 extra as the Autumn ripple ebonite.

Big News!

Hey Everybody!

Okay, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was trying to start a Kickstarter to raise money for a new machine and some shop improvements. Well, that’s not going to happen. My goal was too focused on growing my business, which they apparently don’t allow. Instead, I’ll run the fundraiser here on my website, which means better discounts for you, since I won’t be giving fees to Kickstarter.

I have an exclusive-to-me-for-this-project resin from Bob Dupras we’re calling Belize Cenote. You can’t get it anywhere else. 🙂

More big news.

No more nib grinds. I am still tuning every nib that goes out (even if you just buy loose nibs), but no more grinds. I’m happy to send the pen to the nib grinder of your choice, but I want to focus more on the pens themselves, and sometimes I can get stuck on a grind and the time flies away, or the nib flies in the trash and I have to start over. 8)

A few new pens – and a late Happy Fountain Pen Day!

Happy late Fountain Pen Day! I was at Vanness Friday night – first time in almost 2 years I got out of the shop for pen stuff. I was NOT ready. I forgot ink and converters at home. X) Thankfully Vanness had me covered. And Corbin came along to keep me company.
