So it’s no secret to anybody who knows me.
I like green.
I have 6 or 7 green shirts I wear to school regularly, and a green pen I made myself, along with a couple of green pencils.
A while back I had my resin-pouring-friend Bob mix up a jade green for me – the pen at the top in the picture above. I love it. Reminds me of the vintage Sheaffer and Parker materials.
But the way those vintage materials change and get darker as they age is really cool, too, so I asked him to make up a darker green for me…
And I LOVE it. It turned out SO well. I can’t wait to get this pen finished.
Here it is side by side with the lighter “jade”.
I love all these custom resins. If you have any ideas for a pen you’d like to have made, but you can’t seem to find just the right color, let me and Bob know, and we can try to mix it up for you.

I’m a green fan too. My daughter had to tell me I wasn’t allowed to buy anything else green when we went shopping – really! Your new dark green is beautiful! But the one I drool over every time I go to your page is the one right under where it says “Newton Pens.” That one has such pretty color variations in it – green/brown/yellow. It’s GORGEOUS!
That’s great! My students at school tell me the same things. “No more green!” I have a couple kids who help me though – one girl knitted a hat for me with green and black stripes. 🙂
