Piston filler

How to fill a piston filler. Twist knob on back, in a counterclockwise / unscrewing motion until you feel it stop. Don’t use a a lot of force, the piston will tell you gently that it’s at the end of its travel. Put the entire nib and some of the section into your ink (or some water to practice or clean), and then turn the knob in a clockwise motion to bring the piston back up into the pen, thus filling the barrel.

If you ever have the burning need to take the whole pen apart, I don’t recommend it, but here are videos showing how.  First with my current piston filling mechanism,

and this shows the earlier (3d printed) mechanisms I used for a while.

Syringe Filler
To fill the syringe filler, remove the blind cap from back of pen barrel, twist the thin handle that is sticking out, and then slowly push down until it stops. I like to twist first b/c it breaks the o ring free from the walls of the barrel. Something called sticktion. To fill, dip entire nib and some of section into ink or water, and slowly pull the handle back out, thus filling the barrel.
