Newton Pens Scholarships is a 501c3.
The drawings are free for all to enter, from all parts of the world. No restrictions at all.
During each monthly period, if you participate in the scholarship drawing, you’ll automatically be entered to win a pen. I’ll give you a number AND you’ll get either your pack of postcards or pocket notebook in the mail (so be sure to include your mailing address in the PayPal note). Every penny raised will go towards the scholarships and support students. Yes, you can buy as many postcard packs or notebooks as you want, and for each pack, you’ll get a number.
The raffle itself is free. If you want to enter the raffle without supporting the scholarship (or getting any of those cool postcards or notebooks) then all you have to do is send a note in the mail to:
PO Box 6084
Hot Springs, Ar. 71902
And write CLEARLY on the note “Free entry to Newton Pens Scholarship Pen Give-away. Name. Email address.” Failure to do so will result in your free entry being discarded. Even if you have submitted before and I have your contact info somewhere, I will discard any entries without all the info on them.
Everybody who enters will be given a number in the order that they entered, and at the end of the month I’ll draw a number to pick the winner of a $225 credit. I use random.org as a number picker.
The $225 credit can be used any way you want. If you want any customizations or material upgrades, that’s all you’ll have to pay for. Shipping and nib grinds are free. For international winners, I ask that you pay shipping after $15.
If there are ANY questions, please do ask. If you have a suggestion about how to make things easier to explain or understand, please let me know. 🙂 This is all about the success of the scholarship and getting financial help to as many kids as we can.
If you want to help the fund without buying postcards, contact me through email, email@example.com, for details.
1. “I’m confused how do I buy?”
–Click on the “Donate” button on the Postcard Page or the Notebook Page. Be sure to write in which set of cards or notebook you want and your postal address and I will send your items and a raffle number.
2. “Interesting idea. Is it open to non-USA residents? I couldn’t find information one way or the other, but postage costs must surely be an issue.”
–Open to everybody worldwide. International postage for postcards is only about $1.15 so not that bad. Shipping is included in the prices for the notebooks.
3. “What kind of pen do I get if I win?”
–You get a $225 credit which covers any base model ($225 price range), any size, any nib grind, any base material I have on hand. If you want special materials, a more expensive model, a gold nib or special filling system (button or piston) I ask that you pay for that. I’ll still cover shipping in the US, and up to $15 internationally.
4. “How do I enter for free?”
–Send a note or postcard in the mail to me at

5. “Who can get a scholarship? Art students only? Kids in Arkansas only?”
–Right now the scholarship is open to any high school students going in to any college, anywhere in the USA. Kids at any school can apply and receive a scholarship. Current college students are not eligible. Adults going back to school are not eligible.
